In addition to designing an effective drill program, MGS can also
supervise the collection and storage of core, drill contractor operations
and other aspects of the program. This helps ensure productive
resource allocation as well as compliance with NI 43-101 regulations.
Drilling provides an unparalleled insight into the underground world.
The results of a drill program can aid in resource estimations,
geological mapping and project planning. However, to ensure that
resources are not wasted, a drill program must be properly designed to
target areas of interest. A poorly designed program can result in the
waste of precious time and capital.
Using our decades of experience, MGS can ensure that your drill
program meets regulatory requirements (including reporting and
permitting), targets the correct areas and is ultimately useful during the
reporting process.
Every project has different technological requirements for office
networks, communications, software, equipment and configuration.
MGS has the technical experience to provide helpful consultations in
order to understand your company’s needs. Optionally, MGS can also
coordinate the setup of office and field equipment to help get your
operations up and running.

Depending on the size, scope and requirements of a project is may
become necessary to employ sub-contractors which can aid MGS in
various field operations.
Munroe Geological Services Ltd. has the resources and expertise to
locate, train and supervise the right people to assist in a wide variety of
duties, from Field Exploration to Drill Core Logging. MGS will handle
technological requirements, communications needs, training, Worker’s
Compensation Board coverage, etc.
This allows clients to focus on getting their project up and running
without the burden of dealing with sub-contractor supervision, while at
the same time maintaining NI 43-101 compliance.
GIS Maps created by MGS enable clients to have a better visual
understanding of their company’s holdings. Ranging from moderate to
heavily detailed, these maps can show claim information, drill hole data,
sample & assay data, roads, terrain and many other types of
information. Using these maps, MGS is able to better organize property
data in a format that is more presentable to clients and easier to
reference for the reporting process.
Few projects start on land which has not been explored or mined by
others in the past. As part of the Initial Property Evaluation, MGS will do
in-depth research to find any existing Government and/or private
records available that pertain to the client property.
However, some clients will also have on-site historical records (drill
logs, maps, etc). In these situations, MGS will employ modern, safe and
efficient methods to digitize, record and use any relevant historical data
during the reporting process. This can greatly assist in avoiding data
redundancy, targeting exploration resources, reducing exploration costs
and providing a well-rounded historical data set for the final report.
The foundation for mining project which require investor funding is the
National Instrument 43-101 (NI 43-101) Report. It involves extensive
research, property evaluation and sampling by a Qualified Professional
(QP). Richard Munroe has served as a QP for several projects over the last
decade, authoring Technical Reports which meet NI 43-101 standards and
therefore allow clients to pursue outside investment.
These reports can take several months depending on:
- Complexities of the property
- Legal situations
- Structural Analysis results
- Drilling/Bulk Sample Requirements & Results
- Which resource(s) are being investigated
Munroe Geological Services Ltd. has a reputation for ensuring that all
aspects of a property are investigated and properly laid-out when creating
NI 43-101 reports.

The Structural Analysis phase is a quite extensive process. By examining
visible (and known) veins and structures in addition to lithological
information and maps, MGS is able to form an educated hypothesis
about what lays beneath the surface.
While details of this process are confidential, a properly performed
Structural Analysis will aid in:
> Developing Resource Estimates
> Identifying Potential Drill Targets
> Creating Structure Maps
> Understanding a Property’s Formation
> Other important exploration stages
Using our experience with underground geological exploration, MGS can
help projects save time and money by properly focusing resources on
specifically identified areas of interest.
By combining new and historical mapping and data sources together
with Precision GPS data, MGS is able to create 2D and 3D maps allowing
clients to get a full digital tour of their property. Custom maps can also
be created to meet permitting requirements, aid in resource
estimations, and provide a vital tool for planning and coordination of a
project site.
Prior to the construction of roads, plant equipment and service facilities
it is highly recommended to have Precision GPS data captured from
various locations around the project. Using the latest equipment with
trained technicians allows MGS to provide proper and efficient GPS data
which can assist in planning, permitting and numerous other aspects of
a project.
Once a property has been evaluated and a resource has been identified,
MGS can provide assistance as well as guidance in beginning the
development of a new mine. Logistical planning, permitting,
environmental studies, bulk sample supervision and numerous other
services are available from or can be arranged by Munroe Geological.
Starting a new mining operation is a large undertaking - it’s essential to
get it right the first time.
Following an Initial Property Evaluation and Project Planning session, it
may be required to stake or negotiate agreements for nearby properties.
MGS will provide direction regarding which properties are of interest for
the project and how to obtain the rights to explore that land. We are
able to provide online as well as physical staking in numerous
jurisdictions with valid prospectors licenses and access to the right
resources for this purpose.
MGS has extensive experience dealing with new projects on virgin
ground. We are able to provide advice and expertise in planning initial
exploration programs, budgets, allocation of resources, mapping and
other vital start-up items.
For projects which are already under way, MGS will help craft a detailed
plan for ensuring that no items are overlooked on the path to creating a
successful, sustainable operation.
The first step for any new project is to conduct a consultation and
gather all available mapping, geological and area data. Following a site
tour and preliminary research, MGS is able to better understand the
project at hand - this is instrumental in allowing for the preparation of
proper resources and tools to aid in the timely completion of the
program.
Mining operations can cover all elevations and topographies in a wide
range of climates. With experience in all kinds of geographical settings
from Mongolia to South America, MGS can ensure that the proper
resources are deployed to get projects under way in the most efficient
manner possible. Utilizing trucks, helicopters and ground crews enables
us to reach any area quickly to carry out initial exploration or detailed
analysis of a property.
Underground mines pose unique challenges for mapping, safety,
logistics and other factors. With extensive experience in dealing with
these challenges, MGS can help explore and develop a plan to tackle any
underground resource.
